[NEWS] Lagos State Government Clears Air On KWAM 1's Performance At Oniru's Coronation



Lagos state government has expressed that well known Fuji performer, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, was not truly present to perform at the ongoing royal celebration function of Oba Abdul Wasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iru Kingdom.



An announcement discharged by Chief Press Secretary to Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, expressed that his presentation was virtual in accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines.

As indicated by Gboyega, the counter became important after web-based social networking reports which expressed that the well known performer was truly present and COVID-19 guidelines were penetrated.

He stated:

"Contrary to reports in some quarters of the social media that King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall was invited to perform at the recent coronation ceremony of Alaiyeluwa Oba Abdul Wasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iru Kingdom, K1 was not physically present at the occasion.
“His performance was virtual in line with the new order.
“It is also important to state that the traditional rites and presentation of the Staff of Office and other instruments of appointment, were held under strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocols on social distancing.

For the record, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday, seventh of June 2020, formally introduced the Staff of Office and different instruments of arrangement to Oba Abdulwasiu Gbolahan Lawal.

He turned into the fifteenth Oniru of Iruland following 85 years the sovereignty left his Abisogun faction.

The seat became empty a year ago after the fourteenth Oniru, Oba Idowu Oniru, joined his progenitors.
