[BREAKING NEWS] Court Awards Iyanya 20 Million Naira Bail Over Supposed Vehicle Theft


An Igbosere High Court in Lagos has conceded vocalist Iyanya bail of N20million over supposed vehicle robbery.

Justice Mobolanle Okikiolu-Ighile, on Thursday, February 27, requested Iyanya Mbuk to deliver a surety in the like whole, who ought to likewise have landed property in Lagos with a Certificate of Occupancy.

Justice Okikiolu-Ighile stated: “I have perused the affidavit and the counter-affidavit of the parties; there is a prima facie case of criminal conversion against him.

“However, there is nothing to show that the defendant will interfere with the proceedings of this case and nothing to show that he will jump bail if granted bail.

“Bail is therefore granted to the defendant in the sum of N20 million with one surety in the like sum.”

The appointed authority suspended till May 27 and 28 for preliminary.

On March 15, 2019, the police documented the one-tally charge checked LD/9024c/2019 against the vocalist. In any case, he neglected to show up in court for arraignment, regardless of purportedly being presented with the charge and hearing notification. Accordingly, the arraignment was suspended multiple times.

Justice Okikiolu-Ighile took steps to summon the intensity of the court to guarantee Iyanya's participation to take his request.

The offense, as per the investigator, was in opposition to Sections 278(1) (b), 279(1)(2) and culpable under Section 285(10) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Iyanya argued not liable.

Agwu implored the court to remand the litigant in the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCS) guardianship, pending the meeting and assurance of his bail application, The Nation reports.
