LAUTECH Hult Prize: OnCampus Winners Selected, Others Cry Injustice

The representatives of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology at the regionals have been selected at the end of today's program, 12th of December 2019.
Three teams were chosen which were the Team Homemade Gas, Team Pascycles and Team Achievers taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. However, out of the 18 teams that qualified for the competition, it was only 11 teams that competed due to time constraint as claimed by the organizers. Three teams were chosen as the best afterwards.
As such, the teams that were not allowed to present their ideas did not hesitate to show their displeasure at the injustice meted out to them. Saying they could have presented the best ideas had they been given chance to do so.
A team lead (name withheld) claimed that he had spent over 30, 000 to provide a prototype product of his idea which was based on the same theme that a winning team pitched and won. He said given the chance, such team would not have won ahead of his own team as the winning team did not have a prototype with them. The team lead went ahead to rent out his frustration at the utter injustice and the corruptible stakeholders that allowed for such. He stated that this was a case of corruption and back-door influence
Amidst anger and almost teary eyes by those cheated of their chance, the victory was given to three teams while some were not allowed to present at all. Such irregularities should not exist where bright brains are being scouted for. We align ourselves with the cheated student and ask that the result be annulled and fresh competition should be conducted.
This is about the only thing that can compensate for the injustice apportion to the poor students. As the reason given by the organizers pertaining to time is self crucifying because the event that was supposed to start by 9am did not start until 11 am.
As Alexandra I. Had said
“In keeping silent about evil, in burying it so deep within us that no sign of it appears on the surface, we are implanting it, and it will rise up a thousand fold in the future.”
