Breaking News --- LAUTECH To Have Residential Buildings Soon – Vice Chancellor

Professor Ologunde the Vice Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso had said that the institution shall soon have a residential department.

The VC said this while giving the opening remark at a workshop organized by The Association of Commonwealth Universities, UK, in collaboration with Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso, Nigeria.

According to Professor Ologunde, “The university is working towards having residential accomodation on campus” he went on to explain that the accomodation is all inclusive as both staff and students would be made provision for. He said this would further increase our productivity and also put us at shoulder length with other universities of standard.

“If we attain this level, our level of productivity will rise above what it is already” he said.

Moreover, the Professor also encouraged both staff and students of the University to support the large opportunities provided by workshop like this in promoting there career. He said being in the university environment exceeds the knowledge of chemistry and physics alone as there are a lot of other things to learn at the same time.

Again, he said LAUTECH cannot afford to leave a vaccum and that is why assistant lecturers have been sent to some department attached to senior lecturers with a view that the senior lecturers guide, mentor and let them grow.

He also hinted at looking forward to a female DVC in a bid to further align the school with the objectives of gender mainstreaming on which the workshop was focused.
